Cheshunt Swimming Club continued to celebrate their County Championships success at the Hertfordshire BAGCATS awards ceremony.
BAGCATS is a system which rewards each County success with points. Throughout the County Championships, swimmers were awarded points according to the times they swam across the whole variety of strokes and varying distances. Points are awarded to individuals for the following.
Best 50m sprint
Best 100m race
Best 200m Form – Backstroke, Breaststroke or Butterfly race
Best 200m Distance – 200m freestyle or 400m/800m Freestyle
Best Individual Medley race
The hard work in training and the determination in racing really paid off for Cheshunt Swimming Club. An incredible 7 swimmers finished in the top 8 in their age group.
The best placed boy was Zane Batt who came 2nd in the 9 years old group. Callum Wollaston collected 3rd place in the 11 years old age group and Daniel Lush came 7th in the 12 years old group.

In the girls’ groups, Olivia Pawson collected 3rd place in the 13years old group and in the same age group, Tegan Wollaston came 6th. In the 10 years old age group, Emily Lush came 7th and in the 11 years old age group, Megan Pope was placed 8th.
The swimmers were all awarded with a silver plate at the end of the ceremony.
Well done to all of them, this was a great way to finish off the County Championships!
The Club now looks forward to the Junior Gala Season starting with the Peanuts League in a few weeks.The BAGCAT winners are an inspiration to the younger swimmers in the club, as many of them will be competing for the first time.
